About Southcoast Raqs: Elizabeth Estrella created Southcoast Raqs in 2024 as a means of highlighting the diversity & talent of our local New England belly dance artists. Inspired by a lack of opportunities for dancers of all backgrounds, abilities, & identities, Elizabeth reached out to many of her fantastic colleagues to create a stage show where all artists are safe & celebrated as they showcase their talent. Across four shows, Southcoast Raqs has featured fory-nine dancers from MA, RI, VT, CT, Lebanon, the Dominican Republic, France, Brazil & more! We’ve had the honor & privilege of sharing the stage with professional headliners: Najla, Inara, Sherine Khatoun & Elizabeth Estrella. The show is also a celebration of small business & has featured fifteen local vendors so far.
